1. Articles creation; and
2. Article distribution.
Article Creation:
If a web site owner consider "Article Marketing" as a way to promote his products or services, he will consider submitting articles to "Article Directories".
This is where the process starts to get involved. "Article Directories" not only host your articles, but also syndicate them to its subscribers, web sites, safe lists, blogs, and even other article directories. This soon resulted in masses of duplicate content on the internet. To prevent this, some "article directories" offer a service where they 'spin' articles. This simply mean that they created software that turn a single article in hundreds or even thousands of 'unque' articles.
This created a second problem... "how do one ensure that each 'spinned' article is readable?"
The way they get around this problem is to require web-authors to provide them with 3 to 10 alternative sentences for every sentence in the article. In theory, these sentences will all deal with the same subject and will fit seamlessly into the article.
In addition to the alternative sentences, the directories may also require the web-author to provide a list of 5 to 10 synonyms for selected words or phrases.
Once this has been done, software will reconstruct the article using randomly selected alternatives to replace original sentences, similarly certain words or phrases will also be replaced by randomly selected synonyms.
If done properly, the article directory can provide each of its subscribers with a perfectly readable unique article. A win-win for all concerned.
The downside of this approach is that not all "Article Directories" has sophisticated 'article-spinning' software, and not all web-authors take care in ensuring that alternative sentences are well written... the result is messy articles... that must (or will) be frowned upon by search engines.
A downright dangerous development is that there are now software on the market that simply 'spin' thousands of articles without any human intervention. The concept here is to simply distribute any article with the web-author's links embedded in the resource bos. All these directories want to achieve is to generate masses of 'back-links' to the web-author's website or blog.
Article Distribution:The next process involves the "Article Directory" or vendor distributing unique articles to the thousands of subscribers to their article directory.
This is extremely useful as a leveraged link building strategy. Your articles get distributed to thousands of websites and blogs with different registered domain owners, different IP addresses and different content all linking back to your Website or Blog. Search Engines love this kind of thing because it demonstrates that their are lots of interest in you offerings... so your site tends to get ranked higher. There is nothing to suggest that these articles and links are all connected so this is an ideal service for building links and page rank.
Some of these Article Directories allow Web-Authors to place links anywhere in the body of the text, NOT only in the Resource Box. This is of tremendous interest to web-marketers as it can increase actual interaction with their site.
In Conclusion:
Article Marketing Automation offers tremendous benefits to web-marketers. It is important though that if you decide to use this refreshing approach to article-marketing, be careful to ensure that your 'spinned' articles are perectly formed and readable.
Failing that, search engines will be forced to take action to protect the integritty and quality of articles served on their sites.
